The Difference Between Lake Allatoona, Allatoona Lake and Lake Acworth

Lake Allatoona, is also know as Allatoona Lake, is generally called and know as Lake Allatoona by most people. Often Allatoona is confused with Lake Acworth. Many people think Lake Acworth and Allatoona are the same lake and are connected but they are two separate lakes. Both are man made and are divided by highway 92 aka Lake Acworth Drive and it is the low dam at this point . The only connection between the two is Lake Acworth outflows into Lake Allatoona.

Lake Acworth is maintained by the City of Acworth which is also know as "The Lake City".  The city operates Cauble Park and the white sandy beach area that is located along the northern shore of the lake. The lake itself is 90 acres and has a fishing dock and boat ramp located on the east side. Gas powered boats are not allowed in Lake Acworth but canoes, kayaks, john boats and boats with electric motors are fine. The city of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association both hold many wonderful events at Cauble Park year round. Check our monthly calendar for scheduled events for Acworth and Lake Allatoona.
